Hello!  Tell us a little bit about yourself.

HI! I’m Grace Hurtienne, or @spacewolfgrace, as I’m known online! By day I’m a professional wedding photographer with my husband, and together we are The Soft Season. By night, I’m a professional pizza eater, stargazer and Netflix watcher. I live in the great state of Oregon, I’m a full-time adventure-seeker and wanderluster for foreign places, and I never EVER take myself too serious.

What can you share about your business?

I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a photographer. I found it by accident. I was working as a critical care nurse, and picked up photography as a creative hobby. I photographed a friend’s wedding for fun, and FELL. IN. LOVE! I was so used to working with people during the worst moments of their life, so spending a day with a couple in love during their best day was a game-changer! I worked for a few years to build my business, and eventually left nursing. After lots of begging and pleading, I convinced my husband to join me, and while he was hesitant at first, he quickly caught the bug, and together we have plans to take over the world, muwahah! ;)

What's the best advice you've been given about your business?

Be. Yourself! Seriously, there is MASSIVE pressure in the wedding industry to follow all the fancy trends. But trends are boring and rules suck. So don’t follow them. Do what YOU want, and what YOU love!

What's your favorite thing about Fotostrap?

My favorite thing about Fotostrap is that they give back by donating part of their proceeds to Fotolantrophy, which provides portrait sessions for those in need! Also, of course, they're super comfortable, and customizable!

Who do you admire and why?

I admire anyone who has the balls to go after their dreams, because this life is too short to waste doing things you hate.

Where do you find inspiration?

The beauty in nature is my biggest source of inspiration, and something heavily used in all of my work. I’m also insanely inspired by my adventurous clients. Love is everything, and people in love are the most awesome!

Describe where you see yourself in 5 to 10 years.

World Domination. Jk. I dunno, probably drinking Mai Tais on a beach somewhere after an epic wedding, chasing puffins in Iceland, checking more National Parks off of our bucket list, or hiking some fancy mountain with my hot dude, and our two crazy dogs.

What are some of your favorite photography "must haves"?

35Art lens, and snacks. Lots of snacks.

Anything else you would like to share with us?

We’re super excited to announce the launch of a new branch of our business, OMG! Werksherp (omgwerksherp.com) Adventure Photography Workshops for Awesome People! Our first workshop will be November 6-8th in Cannon Beach, Oregon, and it’s going to be bananas!
